Belize is home to a 170-mile stretch of coastline with hundreds of islands spanning the coral reef and the entire length of the land. With many convenient travel centers in North America, you can relax on the beach in just a few hours. The best part of a holiday in Belize is that it is sunny and warm at all times of the year. A friendly local culture and a large seaside resort as well as many restaurants make Belize an ideal holiday destination.
The coast of Belize and the resulting beaches are directly related to the beautiful reef. The reef grow very close to the surface of the beach due to the formations of the coral makeup, because of this the corals have enough sunlight to survive. The work of the reef is that it acts as a natural breakwater and help to protect the adjacent coast from gigantic waves. This is the main reason most beaches in Belize are shallow, and reef are quiet depending on the proximity between the shores of water. Meadows are an important habitat for many young marine animals that live as adults in the reef. The snorkelling enthusiast in the shallows along the coast will surely see many interesting creatures. The Belize Island create the perfect paradise environment.
Placencia is a seaside resort on the Placencia Peninsula in Belize, 25 kilometers along the south coast of the island, the longest stretch of coast on the continent. The beach is one of Belize most popular hideout by sea.
Visitors can kayak, fish on sea bream and dive in the heart of Belize's coral reef during the day, and enjoy the best restaurants and nightlife of the three villages in the evenings. The annual events on the peninsula include a lobster festival from April to July, as well as frequent whale shark shows and guided tours.
